Crossing the Andes by ground or flying to Jauja airport you will be in the heart of the Peruvian Andes. From here there are many options to get the Central Jungle. if you plan to get the jungle pedaling, a good choice is to stay a day in Mantaro valley, just to get ready for challenge.

Four to five days trip

ROADS

1 LIMA/JAUJA
First day is for travel from the city across the Andes. Eight hours by ground and we are in the main Andes. Or a 40 minutes flight is another option to get there.

2 JAUJA INCA TRAILS 
This is an option to ride in the Andes at least one day. The ride is around the 4000m o 3600 along the Inca Trail.

WILD ROADS

3 JAUJA / RICRAN / SAN RAMON
To profite the day, is better to climb up by car to the highest point (4.600m), and then, we will be without support for at least 6 hours. The biking downhill trail to the jungle is by a narrow and wild dirt road, following small towns as Tambillo, Monobamba and finally San Ramon Town (700m) in the afternoon. Almost 4000mt of downhill!!!

CHANCHAMAYO

4 SAN RAMON
A whole day riding around San Ramon village is a good option to enjoy the nature. The Pampa Hermosa Reserve road is an interesting in-out ride in the wild of nature.

5 SAN RAMON/JAUJA/LIMA
We may go back to Lima by ground or flying from Jauja.
