THE TRAIL OF GODS

FROM THE ANDES TO THE PACIFIC

The Andes hides incomparable treasures. Starting from Jauja region in the central Andes we will ride across the Limenian Andes to the Pacific Coast.
We will get in touch with Pariacaca sacred mountain, above 5,000m. then, cross the western mountain range to begin the ride down to the coast (BTW not always is down) finishing close to Pachacamac Temple.

The Trip

ON THE WAY TO THE MIDDLE OF THE ANDES

JAUJA VALLEY To begin this tough adventure you need a first day for acclimatizing. An option is to ride along the Mantaro valley, around the 3400mt. A nice and easy loop to start to get ready!

JAUJA / TANTA Very early we’ll say good bye to Mantaro Valley, and we´ll target straight to the heart of the mountain range. It takes 4 hours to drive. If the goal is to ride as more as you can, get ready, is very tough, have to dice above 4,000mt the whole ride. Two highpasses the last of 4700mt. From there is way down to Tanta. Get ready and wait for the coldest night in the Andes at a very basic hostel.

DOWN TO THE COAST

TANTA / QUINTI
If you are able to climb at 4,500m we´ll take the challenge, if not we will get the highpass by car. Then we begin the cross of the western Andes, riding down to Quinti village, around the 2500m (some climbs are included).

ESCOMARCA / PACHACAMAC
Best decision is to go by car (2 hours) to Escomarca village, from there you should begin to ride, crossing the high platteau and enter to the western side of the Andes. We will descend by dirt road, following villages as Langui, Antioquia, Chontay, Cieneguilla to finally arrive to Pachacamac some few kilometers close to the coastline. More than 100Kms downhilling.
