CUSCO FAR AWAY
Starts at the high lands of Chinchero to make a slow descent to Huaypo Lake. From there, you turn toward Moray. Then the road to Maras town to continue by singletracks to the Sacred Valley, we will ride close to the Salt Mines and finish at the Urubamba River
A great place for those who likes enduro. But is more than biking here, for those who wants to meet art and history the colonnial church is a must-see.
THE FOUR LAKES and RAQCHI
Heading south and driving up to Pomacanchis Town, at 3650m.a.s.l. we start the ride. We ride along the shores of famous 4 lakes of Cusco, located in the land of historical Tupac Amaru, a Inca noble who led the great Andean rebelion of 1780 against the Spanish status quo. If we are strong enough we should climb up to the mountain pass to ride down to the Vilcanota Valley and pedal to Raqchi Town. This community has services of lodging and meals provided directly by them.
AYAVIRI MOUNTAIN RANGE
Few kilometers after La Raya highpass we arrive to Ayaviri city. Riding from there we go to Tinajani Canyon, and after that by a long plateau that will start at 3900m.a.s.l. and end at 4100m.a.s.l., to then, start the climb up the mountain range. We will pass the forest of the ‘puyas’, a type of cacti that flowers only once each century. Once at the mountain range pass, at 4600 m.a.s.l., we will start the downhill on paved road to Lampa city.
TITICACA LAKE SHORES
One most beautiful sides of the lake starts at 4000m.a.s.l. From the highest point in the hills, we will go down to Pusi Town. From there, after a few minutes, we will reach the coast (3850m) and then, climb by the road that follows along the cliffs of the lake and leads to Capachica Town, where we will finish profiting the sunset of the lake.
